01. Why Should I Consider In-Home Care?
In home care keeps the patient at home in familiar surroundings. The comfort of "home" makes patients feel safe along with the added benefit of decreased contraction of infections normally associated with hospital or nursing home settings. 02. When Should I Consider In-Home Care?
When loved ones are at an age or stage of needing more help than they will sometimes admit, or than your family is able to provide, that's where we step in. Issues that may indicate a need for home care assistance include: - Your loved one has trouble getting dressed or fastening clothing - Toileting and bathing present complications for your loved one - They are unable to prepare meals or need frequent assistance - Nutritional needs are not being met due to problems with eating - Medications are sometimes missed or forgotten - Walking requires assistance or frequent falls occur - Household chores are being ignored or present difficulty - A pre-existing or new diagnosis require on-going medical attention
03. Are Patient Families Involved In The Process?
We provide home healthcare based on the client's medical, personal and situational needs. The client and family are included in all steps of creating the plan of care, and are encouraged to let staff know when changes occur so that the plan may be updated to meet the client's current needs. Midwest Home Care staff will also notify other care providers of the changes.
04. How Is Patient Confidentiality Ensured?
Confidentiality is a high priority at Midwest Home Care, we will use and disclose your health information in order to treat you or to assist other health care providers in treating you. Your confidentiality is achieved with a state-of-the-art electronic security system and data encryption/password protection. All physical documents are secured in lock containers.
05. Are Midwest Home Care Professionals Chosen To Correlate With Patients?
Thorough background checks are performed on all of our professionals. All employees must have 1+ years of experience, letters of reference, and required certifications. A nurse, from Midwest Home Care, will meet with a potential new client at the beginning of care. The nurse and client/family will discuss what care is needed for the client, and then a personalized plan of care is created. Midwest Home Care scheduling staff review the needs of client and match that client with our professional staff member who is best able to meet the needs of the client. At Midwest Home Care we are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare services to our clients.
06. What Services Does A Caregiver Provide?
Personal care services including bathing, dressing and the like. Medication reminders. Completing errands such grocery shopping. Light housekeeping. Mobility assistance including transferring in and out of bed/chair, ambulation with the use of assistive devices. Incontinence care. Companionship.
07. How Long Has Midwest Home Care Been In Business?
We have been offering quality in home care in Summit, Portage and Stark counties since 2004. Our home health aides are here to ensure your loved one is cared for in a compassionate and caring manner.
08. What Is Your Service Area?
We offer quality in home care for Northeast Ohio residents. This includes the greater Akron area, Stow/Kent area, Canton/Massillon area. Along with Hartville, Green, Fairlawn, Hudson and more.
09. How Are Fees Paid?
Fee payments vary depending on individual circumstance and qualification. Fees are typically paid by private pay, insurance companies or state and federal agencies.
10. Does This Provider Assign Supervisors To Oversee The Care Of The Patient?
All Midwest Home Care professionals are supervised by the Administrative staff. Each client is assigned an RN case manager who, along with other RN and LPN staff, monitor the care provided and complete supervisory visits to make sure that the client's plan of care is accurate and up-to-date.
